How we plan to find our first tutoring schools.

We're a new agency with no client list yet. Here is the exact path we expect a school owner to take, from a question typed into Google or ChatGPT to a 20-minute call with us, and the numbers we're aiming for at each step.

STAGE 1Search An owner asks Google or ChatGPT why enrollment is slow.
STAGE 2Article They land on a practical guide on our blog that answers it.
STAGE 3Free audit request The article ends with one offer: a free 20-minute audit.
STAGE 4Call On the call we review their posts and ads, then propose a plan.

01 / WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

A busy owner with a specific worry.

Our client is the owner of a small children's tutoring school in the US: one to three locations, or fully online, teaching K-12 students. They usually run the school themselves, teach some classes, and handle marketing in whatever time is left.

They don't wake up looking for a social media agency. They look for help when something goes wrong: a new group in September is half empty, a Facebook ad cost $300 and brought two calls, or a competitor down the road seems to be everywhere online. At that moment they open Google or, more and more often, ask ChatGPT.

So our funnel doesn't start with selling. It starts with being the most useful answer to the question they're already asking.

That's why we chose search, not cold outreach, as our main channel. A parent-focused business owner who finds us through a helpful article arrives with a problem in mind and some trust already built. A cold message arrives with neither.

02 / THE FUNNEL, STEP BY STEP

Four stages, one clear next step at each.

Every stage has one job: move the owner to the next stage. Here's what happens, what we put there, and what we measure.

01

Search: show up where the question is asked

The owner types something like "how to get more students for my tutoring business." We want our article in the Google results and cited when ChatGPT or another AI answers. For AI answers that means clear headings, direct answers in the first lines and real numbers, because that's what these tools tend to quote.

Measure: impressionsclicksAI mentions
02

Article: solve part of the problem for free

Each article fixes one real problem: which numbers to track before buying ads, how to write an ad parents act on, when to start promoting September groups. Every one ends with our student-value calculator and the same offer. No pop-ups and no newsletter detours.

Measure: time on pageCTA clicksVisit → lead 1–3%
03

Free audit request: a short form, one promise

Name, email, school, number of locations and their biggest marketing question. Then we qualify: is it a children's tutoring school in the US, and does it run or plan to run social media? Students, freelancers and competitors drop out here, which is normal.

Measure: form submissionsLead → qualified ~30%
04

Call: 20 minutes, useful even if they never buy

We look at their current posts and ads together, set up a simple tracking sheet and show where inquiries are leaking. If there's a fit, we send a fixed-scope proposal within one working day.

Measure: calls heldproposals sentCall → client ~30%

03 / THE NUMBERS

What a realistic month looks like.

We used standard benchmarks for small B2B service businesses: 1–3% of visitors become leads, about 30% of leads are qualified, and a good landing page converts at 2–5%. We assume 70% of qualified leads actually show up for the call, and that one in three calls becomes a client.

Move the sliders to see how traffic and conversion change the result.

The takeaway: about 1,500 visits a month gets us roughly two new schools. That's enough for a small agency, but 1,500 visits doesn't happen in month one. Search traffic usually takes three to six months to build, so these are our targets for once the blog is established.

04 / KEYWORDS

Five searches we want to win.

We asked ChatGPT to act as the owner of a small US tutoring school and list what they would type into Google or ask an AI, from "I have a problem" to "I'm ready to hire someone." From that list we picked five that cover the whole journey, and we track their search volume in Ubersuggest and Semrush:

KeywordStageArticle we'd answer it with
how to get more students for tutoring businessProblem-aware5 numbers to check before you spend on ads
tutoring center marketing ideasProblem-aware12 posts that fill tutoring groups before September
social media for tutoring businessSolution-awareWhat to post as a tutoring school (with examples)
facebook ads for tutoringSolution-awareOne ad parents act on: before and after
marketing agency for tutoring companiesReady to buyThis site's homepage and free audit

We start with the first two because that's where most owners begin: with a problem, not with the idea of hiring an agency. The "ready to buy" keyword gets fewer searches, but the people typing it are almost ready to sign.

05 / 20 SEARCHES

What our client would type, from problem to purchase.

We put ourselves in the shoes of a small US tutoring school owner and asked: what would I type into Google, or ask ChatGPT, before I ended up hiring an agency like Waybik? Here are 20 searches in the order the owner's thinking moves, from noticing a problem to being ready to book a call.
